Owners have reported being offered a share of the parts cost, but there is no entitlement and the answer varies by car, mileage and history.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Contact Nissan customer care as well as the dealer, and put the request in writing<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Include your service history, mileage and the date the symptoms began<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ask for any decision, including a refusal, in writing<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Do not authorise work until you know what has been offered<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Route two: specialist repair<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">An independent gearbox specialist can diagnose the exact fault and repair it, often without fitting a complete replacement. Valve body, solenoid and control faults are common and repairable, and a rebuild is available where the belt and pulleys are worn.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Look for a specialist who uses manufacturer warranty-approved parts, gives you a clear quote before work starts, and offers a guarantee on parts and labour.
