Kia<\/a> has revealed its latest innovation with a \u2018User-Centered Driver\u2019 (UCD) concept that will change the way people drive.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Launched at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, Kia have succeeded in leading the way to provide less distractions to drivers whilst on the road.<\/p>\n

Though this is just a prototype at the moment, with no date set for production, it has been designed to keep the drivers hands on the wheel and eyes on the road.<\/p>\n

Kia’s UDC relies on cutting edge technology to cut down distractions and features a large 18-inch Head-up Display which will display typical information including vehicle speed, navigation information and traffic conditions onto the windscreen.  If the driver does need to glance away, there is a 12.3-inch display that uses eye-tracking technology to ensure there is a clear view from all angles.<\/p>\n

The 12.3-inch display, positioned in the centre console, works with simple hand or finger movements and features small infra-red light and camera sensors designed to pick up small motion made by the driver.  They will be able to control the navigation and other simple functions available within the car.<\/p>\n

Kia is also showcasing its new \u201cIn-Vehicle Infotainment\u201d (IVI) concept, which focuses on in-car entertainment.  The multi-touch console display can be synchronized through a smart phone or tablet and can link to concierge and social networking services, as well as to entertainment suites like Kia’s “Smart Radio.<\/p>\n

The new system interacts with Dynamic HD wireless (WiHD) technology, which allows all displays (front and rear) to operate independently.  You will also be able to interact with other vehicles and can update a driver on road conditions\/accidents etc.<\/p>\n

Kia is yet to confirm production dates and the additional costs but expect to see this within the next couple of years.<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
